The award is a testament to our hard-working employees’ dedication to deliver reliable service in good weather and bad, coupled with strategic investments to build the grid of the future. Since the historic 2004-2005 hurricane seasons, FPL has installed more than 5 million smart meters and more than 160,000 other intelligent devices, leading to improved reliability of service year-over-year – and more than 6.5 million outages avoided since 2011.
